There are several pages on the HAYH website that are interactive and allow HAYH Members and non-Members to submit items to the website. This means that visitors to the website can find out about ? and download information on ? vacancies within your organization, upcoming events and training opportunities, research activities and current consultations and campaigns.
Anyone can submit an item to the HAYH website free of charge. The majority of items submitted by HAYH Members are posted onto the website instantly. Items submitted by non-members will be sent to the HAYH Executive for approval prior to being posted. To ensure uniformity each interactive section of the website has a submission form to ensure that all submissions follow the same format and include key information. To submit an item to the website simply click on the most relevant page (for example, the ‘Events’ page) and follow the easy-to-follow instructions. In some instances it may be appropriate for you to post an item in more than one place on the website. For instance, you may wish to post a research report in the ‘Research’ section of the website, but you may also wish to advertise the launch event for this report in the ‘Events’ section as well.
The Campaigns page is the only interactive section of the website where submissions have to be approved by the HAYH Executive before being posted onto the website. This allows HAYH to ensure that the tone, methodology and conduct of campaigns promoted on the website fit in with the ethos and inclusive approach that HAYH promotes.
Another exciting feature of the HAYH website is that it automatically generates a ‘HAYH Weekly E-bulletin’ that can be sent to HAYH Members and Associate Members across the region. The E-bulletin summarizes items that have been submitted to the website that week. This means that by posting an item on the HAYH website not only are you promoting an event or a vacancy to visitors to the website, but you are also tapping into the HAYH website and ensuring that people working in the housing and homelessness sector across the region know about your event or job.
The HAYH website also contains several ‘stationary’ pages that are not interactive. These pages contain important information about the regional structure, upcoming tender opportunities and the current HAYH Member Consultation. The ‘In your area’ page is a particularly exciting section of the website. Broken down by sub-region this section of the website has been set aside for any sub-regional or local forums, networks or other groups that wish to promote their activities and communicate with their members (for example, to let members know when the next meeting will be held, or to allow members to download agendas and minutes). In this section there is also space for networks, forums or groups that operate at the regional or sub-regional level and that wish to promote their activities. If you are a Chair of a network, forum or a group that takes an interest in housing and homelessness issues and would like to take advantage of this web space please contact HAYH.
The HAYH website is designed to be as user-friendly and as interactive as possible. Individuals that post an item to the HAYH website have to agree to the ‘HAYH Submission Terms and Conditions’. This ensures that individuals understand that an item may be published on the HAYH website; that they take full responsibility for the content of the submission, including any attached materials; and that they understand that HAYH is not responsible for any breach of copyright law. HAYH monitors the content of the website frequently and has the power to remove items from the website that are deemed inappropriate. However, in some instances items may be posted on the website that are deemed inappropriate to the core values, aims and principles of HAYH. If you feel an item that has been posted on the website is inappropriate please contact HAYH. Items posted on the website do not necessarily reflect the views of HAYH, the HAYH Executive, or HAYH Members.
